A bit late...

I'm a bit late with the photos, but it was Aarons party last weekend and he had a few friends join him at the local kids play centre..... Oh my gosh he seems so grown up when I look at pickys of him... What do you think of the cake mum?? I excelled myself this time and I must admit it was a lot easier cause Regan was sleeping over at her friends place..... does that sound bad?? Aaron got two gift cards for his b'day, (I think they must be the in thing at the moment) and Regan is so jealous, she thinks he is way too young to have them and is thinking of trading all her pocket money for lots of small ones.

Yesterday the boys put up our solar hot water system making our carbon footprint just that little bit smaller which was all fantastic until it started to rain as soon as they finished installing it..... no worries we will just hit the boost button, which was all fantastic until we got a huge thunder storm 30 min later and lost power for the rest of the night ..... theres nothing more refreshing - and eco friendly - than a cold shower....
Till later ....

WANTED

Last week a girl in Aaron's class called him stupid...when he told us that arvo we asked him who it was... it was a new girl whose name he didn't know but .... "I'll draw you a picture"... now all we need to do is find a girl in 1U that has a ponytail and wears a school uniform .??!! I so love the way that he draws, or signs, or gets objects to help us understand him... he is so beautifully Aaron..... This afternoon he was looking for a colouring in page of the 'vegi man' from the adds, I didn't get what he was after but when I returned to the kitchen he had made a face with 2 apples a bananna and a carrot.... got to love his persistance.

Check out the latest edition to the backyard..... it's Jaimies one from Nan and Pops place and the kids are just loving it, it needs a bit of a washdown a splash of paint and some new balustrades and it will be as good as new.... I'm so happy with their new play area....
Till tomorrow when I'll share pics of Aarons B'day party.

Sorry Dad..!!!

I just uploaded the photo of your card and realised I haven't called you today .... so sorry .... hope you had a great birthday.

On the subject of birthdays, my darling boy turned 7 yesterday and had just the best of days, pressy's in the morning ... cupcakes to take to school ... a trip to the shops with Nan after and then dinner with the family ... he's having a party on Sunday with his mates... love you sooo much buddy....

.. and heres that card for Dad, soooory again... and there is also one there for mum to give to her friend this birthday... i used the scraps from the Oi Oi Oi layout of Regan ... I am determined to make cards with all the leftovers I get from my LOs.... by making 8 1/2 X 11 I end up with so many offcuts...

I love the back to school....

I love the new haircuts...the shiny shoes...the excitement of new classmates... buying new stationary ...great big school bags full of yummy lunches ... covering new -non dog eared- books....

and of course those special things that end up covering the fridge.. the noticeboards ...the beds... the tables etc by the end of term...here is Aarons first piece of year 1 work -when I was on holidays I played Star Wars-....
and there is also Regans ribbons from the swimming carnival last friday .. 3rd in breaststroke ...2nd in junior freestyle relay and a dubious 3rd in freestyle... yet again she suprised me all round .. go girl go.....

And again another few shots of the local wildlife ... these two guys are living together in the water container of one of my hanging pots .... I love having them around...

I've been scrapbooking..

How hot was it yesterday??... it hit over 40 at my abode, I ended taking the kids and a few friends to the local pool for a while and then came home to the airconditioning to finish this.....
it was taken during the olympics last year....
(it's not really as wonky as it looks... the heat warped the paper a bit ?!?..

this one I did a while ago .... it's the most gorgeous photos or Aaron with all his guns and swords saving the flowers from Shane and his cultivator in the vegi patch...

these are the month by month of the kids for 08 ... done in the first month of 09 ... very impressed with myself.. useing stuff from pip prossers kit again..

and just a couple of cards using the left over "stuff" from the surfing LO of Regan....

how cute is this guy... there seems to be heaps of them around at the moment and I couldn't resist taking a shot.....

Till later....

I just love........

that these two love to play footsies when they're having brecky...

We've had a busy week or two..... I was called back to work on Wed because they were getting so busy .... i wasn't impressed but the kids took it quite well ... I think they enjoyed spending the last few days with dad.... on Tue a log truck came speeding around the corner in front of the shop blasting its horn and within seconds the whole thing had rolled over and there were logs everywhere... we rushed out and thank God it was early and there weren't many cars or people about. .. somehow the driver managed to get out ( a bit worse for wear) and had only damaged one car ..... we all spent the morning in a very hyped up state......

The Moodys came down from Armidale last weekend for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay ... definantly our turn to head up there next time... Aarons had parties, Regans had visits and sleepovers and unfortunantly come monday Shane has to return to work as well... the kids will spend the next week and (something) with Nan.

Couldn't resist this shot ...Aaron is very taken with his new priate ship...

Regan, Danielle and I made Pancakes for brecky on Sat morning which they decided would be much better blue.....that was great to start with.....

but I don't think Regan was really keen...

and finally I am slowly but surely catching up on my scrapping - I think this photo is from June...... and no Mum I havn't forgoten about your cards.... they're still in the pipeline.

Welcome to the New Year

We spent the new year swimming and riding and eating and drinking at Aunty Karens farm... what a beautiful place...check out the scenery ... Regan managed to come off her bike by riding between the shed and cattle yards and falling over just before heading down the bank to the river .... "but I had nowhere to go" she said .???... can you see anything but open spaces..... we'll have to replace the brake lever this week....

Apart from that we've just been hanging at home, the beach, the familys place and enjoying the time off ... I know it will be over way too soon...
I've even managed to do some scrapbooking..

This one is using the gear I got from Pip Prossers site... how perfect was all that surfing paper....I pretty much copied her layout...it just seemed to fit really well..

... and finally the kids school photos for their school albums...

The kids are looking a bit scruffy this year... we were away at Royal Far West when the photos were taken ... -I was most upset that Aaron wasn't in his kindi class shot- ... so the individual photos were a fluke as the photographer was there to take the sports team photos and I grabed him in the office... never the less, scruffy or not it's them as they really are on any given day..

Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night.....

Just a quickie to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and best wishes for the following year..... for those that usually get a card I am very sorry but I just didn't get there this year .... I promise to be a better friend next year....

We've had a fantastic day .... Regan woke Aaron at 5:30 and the day began ... the kids were very pleased with all they received (except Aaron and his towel - not overly impressed by that one)...... My brother-in-law proposed to his girlfriend (she accepted).... lunch was at Karens place where the kids spent the whole day in the pool.... and we have arrived home with a rather inebriated dad who is now sound asleep ....the kids and I are finishing off the day watching Ever After - I love this movie.....

PS: Dad - I'm up to page 41 in our book and am learning all sorts of stuff.... will be a pro in no time.

The kids got a bike this year.. - Aaron will ride it tomorrow- .... he's not sure about the fact that it has two wheels .... Regan on the other hand has taken to it like everything else she touches lately and suprised me again by tearing around the backyard within a few minutes of getting on it..... when did she grow up so much??

Merry Christmas
Leah

My little surfer chick

Regan had her first surfing lesson on sunday and blew me away with how quickly she picked it up... she had a ball and after two hours I had to tell her to come in because the instructor was getting tired.... She loved it and I can't wait to see how she progresses over the holidays ... looks like we'll have lots of days at the beach this summer.

We had the shed/garage/scraproom/spareroom wired up last weekend and shane told me that he had to dig a hole and track the old power so it can be moved for the pool we are hoping to put in this winter .....

to me, this is not a hole...... as Shane was dissapearing in his 'trench' with a shovel he exclaimed that I have no idea what he does at work..... he could be right.

The kids are pretty happy about the holidays....

This is India, Aarons buddy this year... at the end of year presentations all the yr 6's gave their buddies a tree to plant at home... so sweet I thought, now if only we can talk him into planting it in the garden and not outside his window.

and this is the calandar Aaron gave to his teacher for Chrissy this year.... and absolutely loving the paper.

What the?????

Aaron was playing with the tree the other night and knocked off this little angel ... we heard something break but couldn't find the missing piece ... and honestly couldn't work out what on earth it could be....the kids had no idea why we were laughing so much .... and of course when we found the missing piece it was quite obvious to Regan that the appendage was the angels arms.

Movember is finally over ... Yeah..... and my gorgeous hubby has returned to me ... he's gone from this...

to this ....

much better in my view...

I've started the chrissy cards now however these are all for the mother in law to send .... mine are looking like being a bit late this year ... time is just disapearing on me ... how I miss being a stay at home mum....

I even failed to get the yearly kids chrissy photos on the weekend.... Aaron was just not receptive to the idea ... this one of Regan is one of my favourites ..

and to finish off just a couple of pics of the kids for Grandma and Grandpop ( Aaron has just informed me that you get capitals because you are important).

Till next time ...
