School photos

I got Regan's school photos back this week, doesn't actually look like her to me but it must be, they've got her name on it. Anyway this is what I am doing with them each year. I lifted the idea out of a mag a few years ago, these pages will go into a folder for her along with a double LO with all the things she did, and awards she got for that year. Basically each year will have one LO of her official photos and a double of the fun things that happened.....apologies for the average photo...

....and the latest card for copycatcards - a sympathy card - not that you can see in this photo but all the card is shimmer cardstock.

My Superhero

And he certainly is, my georgous boy. Isn't it great when you take those pictures that really touch you, this isn't necessarly a good photo and you can't even see his face but it fills me with love and wonder about who he is and how he's going to grow up.

On a less touchy feely note today was the first day Regan got to have a ride on the back of Dad's bike, how impressed is she?? It's defanantly her first choice of transport now.

And lastly my card for this weeks challange. This is a scanned and shrunken copy of a painting Aaron did for me last valentines day. Ohhhh how cute.

Notice anything

Yes that's right Bear has had a replacement. Aaron was a bit wary at first, actually for about a month, but then got right into it and cut Bears old arm off himself. It wasn't actually an arm anymore as it had got a lot worse than in this photo and was only a ball of fur hanging down from the shoulder by the two seams. The new one is rather large and we did point that out to Aaron but he was determined to put as much stuffing in as he could. "Strong". Nan performed the operation yesterday arvo after Shane and I returned from a ride to Gloucester, Shane rode his bike home and I drove with the kids and by then the novelty had worn off and Aaron was most upset that it was "not same". This morning I had to give it a hair cut (from long fur to short) and although he is still Bear he's not as comfortable and it's going to take a while for Aaron to get just the right hold on him. {Don't you think he looks a bit happier though?}

Finished this today ... it took me ages as I started it 3 times on 3 completely different background papers... love my dark cardstock. If your wondering about the 'Friends" lettering, it's the Heidi swap self adhesive alphabet. I decided I didn't like the Brown so tried to get them off, very sticky. Anyway the letters came off but the adhesive stayed with the bottom layer of chipboard, I kind of liked it, how's that for double use of your lettering.

Finished It

Well, I finished it and am actually pretty happy, it's hard to get that many photos on a 81/2 x 11.

Just thought I'd share this photo of Regan and her best buddy Layla. Layla is over here at the moment having a play date and I couldn't resist taking a few snaps. They have however managed to put a dent in Regans wall right above her bed (Laylas' head apparently) so once Shane finds out it will probably be the last play date.

Ahhh school holidays

Don't you just love them, this time around we've gone nowhere and done nothing and I'm loveing it. The days have been filled with hanging around home with the kids playing and me spring cleaning, ever so slowly room by room.

While cleaning out the fridge I tried to throw away these little guys but the kids wouldn't be in it, at a guess I'd say they've been in there at least 10 months but since they have all been named they're part of the family and cannot possible go.

I have managed to do a few cards for the weekly and midweek challange at copy cat cards and am trying desperately to finish a LO of Regan that I just cant seem to get right.

Regan says thanks heaps Grandma for the handmade winter goodies (in Oct??) and Aaron just loved his book Helen, much appreciated. I should really show that appreciation by making those Red Hat cards you've been patiently waiting for. I will stop thinking about it and make them soon, however from what I hear you'll be making your own anytime now.
Thanks for stopping by .

Floral Fancy Challenge

So here is this weeks challenge card, very plain but full of nice bright colours.

I found this old photo of Regan recently and happened to notice just how much Bunny had deteriorated in the last six years. To Bunnys credit she still goes everywhere with Regan. This includes the ride to school where Regan gives her a last quick sniff before she gets out of the car. Bunny then waits patiently in the car for Regan to return and hold her all the way home.
The journalling reads: 6 years on, a little less colourful, a lot less fluffy and a little battered around the eyes but still so very much loved.

Bear Guts

Yes I know, not a very delightful title but that is what they call it. It being all the stuffing from poor Bear which I am now finding all over the house, the car, the yard. Bear's arm is so bad now that Aaron can dig down to his feet and pull out the stuffing from there. Surely he can't last much longer.

This one is for you Grandma and Grandpop, as you can see it is you and the kids expertly drawn by Regan on our newly painted blackboards. Check out the beard and pink (no red chalk) hat.

Everyone's happy

Another great weekend had by all. Aaron got over his 'sore belly' by friday arvo and is feeling much better. Shane got a whole heap of stuff cleaned up around the place, Regan had her netball presentation and loved her new trophy and I got through some homework for my TAFE (Teachers Aide (special)) course and even managed to do this LO. Its the first one I've done of me - as a grown up - I mean. I've done an album of me from baby up to my wedding day but this is the first one of just me in ages.

Shane and I went to see the new Bourne movie today, this guy gets cuter by the day, oh, and yeah the movie was good too!

And last but not least I finally recieved this cute little item from e-bay. I'ts a champane glass cooler in giraffe print that I have bought for Barb a friend of mine that is totally into giraffes not to mention a drink or two. I hope she likes it.

The week gone by

It's grandparents day at Regans school today and we can't make it because Aaron is sick. Nan has headed off and to be honest I don't envy her, it's blowing a gale out side. I've just rang to check up on them and Layla has joined their picnic as her grandparents couldn't make it. Oh, the photo opportunities I'm missing.

I've also had a haircut, it was one of those moments, you know, bad hair day followed by another bad hair day followed by a trip to the hairdresser. It's been a week now and I'm actually quite used to it now and can even say yes, I like it. (well done Susan, I knew you wouldn't let me down).

And finally some work I've been doing lately, the first is a LO of my beautiful daugher Regan that started as a bit of a personal challenge to use that brite purple kindiglitz thats been in the cupboard for ages and then a card for the new challange blog by the seriously talented Leisa from Scrapsidaisy called copycatcards.

So sad

This is Aaron checking the mail yesterday and realising nothings for him. I don't know why he gets so upset, there is never anything for him. Poor little guy he is on such a mail thing lately, always putting his drawings into envelopes, bringing home boxes (mail) from preschool and wrapping his toys in paper. But, as he is on a bit fettish at the moment please send him something. (thanks grandma)

It's Begun

Yes, 12 months after we put in the plans dirt has moved, Shane got stuck into the footings for our new garage/guest room/scrap room on the weekend and I'm very excited. How much fun is it to see progress?

Oh yeah, and I finished this layout off on the weekend too. Inspirational thanks must go to pip prosser for those bumpy edges.

The weekend

Well, we've had a busy weekend. Sat morning was spent at Regans last game of netball which she played against the other CJ's team, very cute to see all that blue and gold running around the field. They should make quite a good under 8's next year when they're combined. Gala day next sat. The arvo was spent buying and preparing things for Sundays suprise 60th birthday for Nan. The rain finally stoped and the sun came out for a fantastic day at Karen and Darren's farm. Alan, Jeanie and the kids came down from Gundiwindi and Nan had ablolutely no idea that we were all there. The kids all had a ball hanging with each other, playing footy and cricket and even getting in the canoe. The day finished off far too late after far too many beers so much so that the boys didn't manage to get to work today, half their luck considering Trish and Denise headed off to work and I went to Tafe. They must of been feeling very average, I can't remember the last time they took a day off. I took heaps more photos but I used Karens camera so I'll post them in a couple of days.

Have I mentioned how much the kids are enjoying the Nintendo?

Still Raining

Yes, It's been raining for 2 days straight now, with no sign of letting off, that would be OK but Regan had a student free day today and wished to be entertained by me all day. Actually thats not true, she would quite happily play her DS lite for hours but thats not going to happen. The place is absolutely sodden and I have soaked my sneakers just getting to the shed and the chooks, must get a pair of wellies next winter. I did managed to get some homework done for Tafe and finished off these LOs.

US

I thought that I would post these old LO's as a form of introduction. This is us.
